Situated in the heart of Paris in one of the most beautiful historic arcades in the city, Le Bougainville is at the intersection of the world of finance, culture, journalism, and fashion. In an authentic Parisian bistro atmosphere which has inspired many moviemakers, Raymonde shares with her clients her traditional French dishes from Auvergne and elsewhere. She also offers a varied selection of “vins de propriété,” wines which have been produced and bottled by the winegrower … >>>
<<< … It was in the '1960s that Raymonde and Gilbert began to seek out small vineyards and to have wine-tastings for their clients, including journalists (Agence France Presse, Nouvel Observateur, Le Figaro) and members of the financial world (Banque de France, etc), as well as athletes (the Toulouse rugby team and their fans, when matches are held in Paris), who love to get together over a good glass of wine or a good meal. Le Bougainville takes its name from the great navigator Louis Antoine de Bougainville who settled at this address after completing his trip around the world in 1769. Sea lovers still meet here and have even created a little newspaper to honor the adventures of La Boudeuse, Bougainville’s famous ship.
